Hi! This is Tami (Siovaila) Stevens. I was the RT soloist in 82 and 83. I am honored to be a part of your blog, but I hope you won't mind correcting the spelling of my name. How do you like the cut up choir effect?

You would think that somebody could have
thought ahead and moved people into the lettering
and out of the cracks?

The guys had white ties - wow, a mob choir!
Those black gloves had secret compartments.
They were holders of kleenex and New Testaments.

See if you can find Brian Rainbow or Jim Ayers?
Even Gaylan Grant is tough to find.
Dwight Westover, Carol Crow and Jim Risner split right
down the middle! And who is the girl right behind
Cheryl (West) Cope? I'll bet her mom was proud of that
album cover. Put it down as the greatest graphic design
of an RT album.
Help us name the rest of the choir please.

Stories from Dave & Pat Matheny

One Sunday, right before the broadcast, the choir had just concluded praying. Some of us were still praying and slowly coming out of that mood. Brother Ward was talking about having been very sick with "shingles" (I think), and I wasn't listening and said quietly "Lord we praise You," at the wrong time. Some of the guys around me heard it and started laughing, trying to hold it in, which made it worse. They thought I was being funny. Some of the girls in the auditorium from school saw them trying to not laugh, and got to giggling at them, which added to the moment. Brother Ward saw them, lashed out at them, and then turned to the guys in the choir and spoke harshly to them. While I was the cause of the problem, I didn't know what was going on. Later, Brother Mc had a conference with me. It did help me to learn to stay alert on the platform to everything that is going on.

Gaylan Grant tells us:
Ken Brann is the Tall Guy in the middle of the back row,
right in front of Cal White. He must be standing on a tombstone!
Ask Ken about using "Pssst" to shampoo his hair in Montana.
And Gloria Elliott is 3rd from the Left on row 3.

If that is Eve ( ? ) Peak on the Front Row - 2nd from the Right,
then that is Herb directly behind her on Row 3!

Hey Tom and Jan,

Absolutely a BIG YES on the idea of an RT Reunion, August, 2009! I don’t know how I could help but I’d be glad to!

Hope you both are doing well! I enjoyed the pictures from Todd’s wedding. I could still see, in those pictures, that “little boy” from the Calvary Temple days.

Would you mind to share Susie Parks Miller’s email? I used to have it but can’t come up with it in my address file.
